"As you think, so shall you become.”
-Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee is without a doubt the most iconic martial arts superstar in history but Bruce Lee was more thana teacher, family man, martial artist, philosopher, and innovator who became a cultural icon.

Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940, in a Chinese Hospital in Chinatown, San Francisco, in both the hour and the year of the Dragon. Lee and his parents returned to Hong Kong when he was three months old.
After Lee was involved in several street fights in his teens, his father started him training in Wing Chun when he was 16 years old. Into his late teens, Lee's street fights became more frequent and included beating the son of a feared triad family. Eventually, Lee's father decided his son should leave Hong Kong to pursue a life in the United States.
In April of 1959, Lee traveled by ship to the United States with just $100 in his pocket, making his way to Seattle Washington he landed a dishwashing Job, while also enrolled in the University of Washington pursuing a degree in philosophy. He began teaching Gung-fu and soon opened a school in Seattle, followed by two more in Oakland and Los Angeles. In the mid sixties, Bruce was discovered while doing an exhibition at the Long Beach Internationals and began doing TV and Film.
After The Green Hornet series was canceled, Bruce encountered resistance in Hollywood looking to do his own projects. Bruce headed to Hong Kong where he made 3 films, which consecutively broke all box office records and showcased martial arts in an entirely new way. Hollywood took notice and soon Bruce was making his first Hollywood film called ‘Enter the Dragon’. The film made him an international superstar. Unfortunately, Bruce Lee died in 1973 before the film could be released. Today Bruce Lee’s legacy of continues to inspire people around the world.
This rare and stunning piece comes from an autograph book of the period, and was hand signed by Bruce Lee, in his own hand, prior to July 20, 1973 and Bruce’s amazing quote was later added to the signature page.  Bruce Lee’s signature is so rare because of his unfortunate passing so early in his life, even before the release of the film that he is most known for, and that made him a household name, “Enter the Dragon.”  Making this piece we’ve used a rarely seen copy photo of Bruce Lee in his signature sunglasses, taken in 1971. Layered to its left we’ve placed the incredibly rare signature from Bruce Lee, and below his Chinese symbol, both in his own hand. Above the signature is one of Lee’s most prolific quotes that fully embodies one of Bruce Lee’s philosophies for success and what has made his name recognized around the world even today some fifty years later.
“As you think, so shall you become.”
